About The Nature School Foundation
The Nature School Foundation was
founded in 1998 in response to the
need to reconnect with Mother Earth by
aligning ourselves within the Earth’s natural
cycles. The Foundation’s goal is to bring this
natural form of education to all communities
that wish to become involved in holistic living
practices.
Its founder and president, Cynthia DeSantis, has been involved in Earth Education since
1991, creating a pilot model school called the
Nature School at Fawn Lake in Bedford, Mass.
Joining Cynthia are a team of educators and
volunteers, including Foundation CEO, Donna
Werner, who brings with her many years of
hands-on environmental experience. Resident
Native American elder, and noted author,
Medicine Story, is also often on hand to share
his stories and teachings.
Our Mission
The mission of the Nature School Foundation is to develop in each student
a love of learning, a respect for the environment, and the willingness
to participate as a proactive citizen of the community.
Our Vision
Live, Model & Support Natural Holistic Practices.
Act as Leaders in Promoting Unity Consciousness and Earth Education.
Support communities in creating Nature Schools across the country.
Our Philosophy
The children are the future caretakers of this planet. As adults the need
is to also learn the natural ways of living together on this Earth in
unity consciousness. As the childrens teachers it is our responsibility
to understand and practice the ways of living in peace and harmony with
all life. We as adults are the models and bridges to supporting holistic
practices that benefit all life forms on this planet. The path is to seek
balance in all that we are. Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical
health and wellbeing are required. Our adult classes promote these teachings
so that all of our human community, from infants to the elderly, can begin
to embrace this way of living.
Our Wisdom
We Are All One
Do What Thou Will and Harm None
